Apparently you can't stop this guy from making lists. After delivering his top 10 sci-fi films, the Song of Ice and Fire author runs down his all-time most beloved works of cinematic fantasy on the eve of Game of Thrones' HBO premiere.

Here are his top 10 fantasy films:

1. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003)

2. The Princess Bride (1987)

3. The Wizard of Oz (1939)

4. Ladyhawke (1985)

5. Dragonslayer (1981)

6. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

7. Dark City (1998)

8. Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

9. Beauty and the Beast (1946)

10. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

If you want to know WHY these films made the cut—and some of these choices demand justification—head on over to The Daily Beast for Martin's detailed essays on each.

How do his choices match up with yours?
