We’re still more than a month away from the opening of Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man 2, but Andrew Garfield is here to tell us all about it. Also, he has a message for the haters.
Garfield chatted with IGN about the film in a recent interview, and it sounds like he’s genuinely having a good time playing the modern-day Peter Parker. It’s a good thing, too, since he’ll apparently be playing it for a few more years and a few more sequels.
The actor noted things are “much more fun” the second time around, and though he obviously hopes fans enjoy the film, he said “screw the critics” if they can’t get onboard with Webb’s vision for the franchise.
He also delved into why the world loves Spider-Man and touched on the “very, very deep connection” between Peter and Harry Osborn introduced in the film. It’s interesting to see Garfield digging deeper into the character, and we’re hoping it comes through on-screen.
