Animated Green Lantern DVD movie gets new July release date

Green Lantern: First Flight, the fifth entry in the popular DVD series of DC Universe animated original PG-13 movies, has shifted to July 21, DC announced.

A co-production of Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Brothers Animation, the movie is the superhero's first-ever full-length animated film and will be distributed by Warner Home Video.

Green Lantern: First Flight will be available as a special-edition two-disc version on DVD for a suggested retail price of $24.98 and on Blu-Ray disc for $29.99. A single-disc DVD will go for $19.98.

Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) leads the cast as the voice of Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. The cast includes Victor Garber, Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and Michael Madsen.

Produced by animation legend Bruce Timm, Green Lantern: First Flight is directed by Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Superman Doomsday) and scripted by Alan Burnett (The Batman).
