A few horror franchises made strides this week, while a deep dive into the DC catalog adds tertiary characters to its already tertiary storyline.

First up, it’s the next entry in The Conjuring-verse, Annabelle 3. The doll film rounding out the trilogy recently landed the main duo from the franchise, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s investigative Warrens, in supporting roles. And it has now added a third lead to its tale of teens having the worst time.

Deadline reports that Gary Dauberman’s film will add Katie Sarife alongside Mckenna Grace’s Judy Warren and Madison Iseman’s babysitter. The Artifacts Room won’t save these three girls from the evil in Annabelle’s heart as chaos reigns in the house — which will be the sixth entry in James Wan’s horror universe. Sarife appeared on Supernatural and YouTube’s Youth & Consequences. The film enters production later this week.

Another film in the Conjuring world, The Nun, sees one of its stars move on to bigger and better (but mostly bigger things). Demian Bichir is joining Millie Bobby Brown, Julian Dennison, and Brian Tyree Henry as a lead in Adam Wingard’s upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

We don’t know much about the film beyond the title — which really says it all — so character details are certainly under wraps. However, we do know when we’ll learn more, as the film aims to come out on May 22, 2020, after shooting in Atlanta next month.

Finally, the upcoming badass-to-butler drama Pennyworth added two actors to its Epix show. According to a release, Ryan Fletcher and Hainsley Lloyd Bennett are playing Alfred Pennyworth’s old SAS chums: Dave Boy and Bazza.

They pal around with Alfred in 1960s London before he becomes the Wayne family butler and a father figure to Batman. Fletcher’s Dave Boy is described as an alcoholic Highland Scotsman who’s the roughed-up wild card, while Bennett’s Bazza is an upper-class playboy who’s got a mind for the business side of things. Pennyworth begins production on Oct. 22.
