New Line debuted a lot of great horror at their ScareDiego event at San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday night, but one of the most exciting announcements (that they tried to slip out like it was no big deal) was that The Conjuring spin-off Annabelle was getting a third entry in her series.
After the breakout spooky doll earned her own movie and a subsequent prequel, Annabelle will "return home" next summer to the Warren's locked room of haunted objects to raise all sorts of hell.
While that's the basic premise, we also know that series screenwriter Gary Dauberman will be making his directorial debut with the film with James Wan to produce (like seemingly every other horror movie under the sun). Onstage at ScareDiego, Wan compared the film to Night at the Museum, joking that Annabelle will have plenty of exciting exhibits and props to torture her victims with.
More news to come, but for now -— watch out for anything in a dress under, oh, a foot tall.
