Anne Rice and Christopher Rice's super top secret project has been revealed.
The dynamic mother-and-son duo has announced that The Mummy, or Ramses the Damned is finally getting a long-awaited sequel, which'll be titled Ramses the Damned: The Passion of Cleopatra. Can I have a hell yes?!
Anne Rice's Ramses the Damned was first published back in 1989, ending with a promise that "The Adventures of Ramses the Damned Shall Continue" -- and continue they finally shall. It only took, what, 28 years? But better late than never ... especially with mummies.
I remember reading Anne Rice's The Mummy back in the day (and as you can see, that was a long time ago) and became a huge fan of Ramses' storyline. So imagine how thrilled I was when I saw that the sequel will be released on Nov. 21 by the good folks at Anchor Books.
If the news of a Ramses the Damned sequel wasn't exciting enough, the Rices also teased that there could be a "long-term miniseries" for television in the cards for Ramses and the new (and returning) cast of characters that will populate Ramses the Damned: The Passion of Cleopatra, alongside their The Vampire Chronicles TV project.
Check out the official announcement video below and let us know what you think. Will you be getting your hands on Ramses the Damned: The Passion of Cleopatra come November?
