We already have Mulder and Scully on the case, but now another former agent of the weird and wild has joined the new season of The X-Files.

TV Line confirms Annabeth Gish will reprise her role of Agent Monica Reyes in the new season, appearing in one of the six episodes. Reyes was a major character in the final two seasons and, along with Robert Patrick’s Agent John Doggett, helped fill the narrative gap once David Duchovny reduced his involvement in the series. Reyes received a mixed reception from fans, though it’s nice to see creator that Chris Carter plans to throw a nod to those final few seasons for fans who stuck it out all the way.

For those who may not remember: Reyes was last seen in the original series finale, helping Mulder and Scully evade capture in the New Mexico desert. It'll be interesting to see where she ends up all these years later.

Gish joins a solid roster of original stars making a return trip for the revival. Along with Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, the new season will feature Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, Bruce Harwood and Sheila Larken.

The X-Files revival season debuts Jan. 24, 2016.
