It might not be connected to the original Ghostbusters films, but Paul Feig’s reboot will include a big chunk of the first ghost-busting team.
Ernie Hudson is the latest original star to sign on for a cameo, now joining Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the supporting cast. Sadly, there's no word on what role Hudson will play in the film. But he was apparently just there for a brief while on one of the last days of filming, so it’s probably just a bit role. Like the other original stars, he will almost certainly not be playing his original character of Winston Zeddemore, since the reboot is unconnected to the old continuity.
Interestingly enough, Hudson was originally against the idea of an female-led reboot, saying it “would be a bad idea” to go that route. He changed his tune when Feig’s stellar cast of funny ladies signed on, impressed with the lineup of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. The fact that they offered him a quick cash-in for a cameo probably didn’t hurt matters, either. Just sayin’.
Hudson was kind enough to also share a snap from the set, showing him hanging with the new team.
Today was one of the most fun days of my career. Great respect for Paul and this amazing cast of ladies. pic.twitter.com/QpNssCDL6L— Ernie Hudson (@Ernie_Hudson) September 20, 2015
