It's a bit late in the game, but even though filming on the fourth season of Game of Thrones is slowly wrapping up, we’re still getting more awesome casting news!

This time it's that of Styr, the Magnar of Thenn.

Yep, we're guessing some of you are going WHO?

Entertainment Weekly reports that the role will be played by 33-year-old Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov, an actor obviously not fairly known in the good ol’ US of A—unless you’re a fan of Russian films and happen to have seen a couple of his flicks, such as V tvoikh glazakh, Schastlivyy konets or Obrechyonnye na voynu, as well as the Russian/French film Rasputin with Gerard Depardieu.

So, well, you know him probably not. To top it all, this appears to be Kolokolnikov's very first English-speaking role. Way to go! A nice plump role on HBO’s hit fantasy series. Not bad, not bad at all.

The character of Styr is an important—albeit a bit more minor (OK, not SO minor for the upcoming season-four storyline, which will be mostly based on the last half of book three, A Storm of Swords)—role in Game of Thrones. Styr leads the Thenn, the most ferocious tribe north of the Wall. His appearance is striking since the Thenns often shave their heads, and Styr has no ears.

At the end of the third season, the wildlings, united under the leadership of Mance Rayder (Rome’s Ciaran Hinds), were getting ready to invade Westeros with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) barely making it back to Castle Black to warn his fellow Black Brothers of Mance’s intentions to breach The Wall.

We’re a bit surprised that they seem to have gone a tad younger than the character is in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire saga but we always say “in Nina Gold (the casting director) we trust” so we’re looking forward to see Kolokolnikov bring that ferocious character to life.

What do you guys think of the casting of Yuri Kolokolnikov as Styr, the Magnar of Thenn? Are you excited about the upcoming fourth season of Game of Thrones?
