The Marvel Studios panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con started with a bang, delivering a host of major casting news, confirming some rumors, and getting fans excited for the upcoming film Ant-Man and the Wasp. After a funny skit that showed Paul Rudd and Michael Pena talking to someone about the history of the MCU so far, it zoomed out to reveal the actress playing Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp in the film: Michelle Pfeiffer!

Yes, Pfeiffer joins the cast as the long-lost Wasp, wife to Michael Douglas's Hank Pym. But that was just the start, as rapid-fire announcements came next.

Hannah John-Kamen, star of SYFY's Killjoys and who has roles in Tomb Raider and Ready Player One, will play The Ghost in the film. In Marvel Comics, Ghost is a supervillain with a battlesuit that can go invisible or intangible (meaning Ghost can go through walls).

Walton Goggins, who was reported to be in negotiations for the film earlier this week, is playing Sonny Burch. Like Ghost, Burch started mostly as a corporate Iron Man villain, associated with Cross Technologies -- the big bad of the first Ant-Man film, and instantly making sense why he'd be here. Whether he winds up going Super-villain, though, is up for debate.

Randall Park was confirmed as Jimmy Woo, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and "Agent of Atlas," though no word yet on whether that means more of his specialized team will make it into the film.

Finally, Laurence Fishburne is playing Dr. Bill Foster, who in the comics was a lab assistant to Hank Pym. He was also exposed to Pym's Pym Particles, and became Black Goliath (and also sometimes went by Giant Man).

Whew -- that's a lot of heavy hitters being added into Ant-Man and the Wasp in one day! Concept art and footage aired as well, though no major reveals were there aside from a comical scene of Lang as Giant Man hiding behind a building.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will buzz into theaters July 6, 2018.
