Ant-Man and the Wasp LEGO set hints at the importance of quantum mechanics

While Ant-Man simply couldn’t be in Infinity War (too scary, too much of a bummer), the hero has a movie co-starring with The Wasp coming out in between the most recent Avengers film and Avengers 4. Figuring out how this intermediary film links the two, or at least how Ant-Man’s cast fits into the greater MCU catastrophe isn’t going to be easy before the film is released. But thankfully, we have LEGO sets to help stoke our investigative fires.

The first LEGO set from the film has had its details released, which allowed the Quantum Realm Explorers set to be dissected by superhero fans like us. The 200-piece set comes with Ant-Man and Wasp mini-figs and their Quantum Vehicle. If you’ve ever wondered about time manipulation, quantum mechanics has quite a bit to say about the subject, FYI. You can basically go back in time through a closed time-like curve and it's not technically impossible. Like most things in quantum physics, it's just highly improbable. So consider that when thinking on the plot of Infinity War.

But hey, let’s look at the set:

We’ve got guns, Ghost, and a gold trophy (somewhere in there, none of the pictures released by LEGO seem to display it) - all of which seem to factor into the set’s purpose, which looks to be a chase scene between Ant-Man, Wasp, and Ghost, with whatever red glowing prize the latter has in her possession.

The set will retail for $19.99 on June 1, only a few days before Ant-Man and the Wasp opens on July 6.
