Fox is showing off its 2017 schedule, and some fresh footage from the cop series APB shows it could be one to watch for sci-fi fans.

APB is about a millionaire who takes over a police precinct with a plan to see if throwing a bunch of cutting-edge tech and money at the crime problem can solve it. The new trailer and footage shows off some very cool drones, splashy tracking tech and next-gen tasers. The show is actually inspired by a real-life attempt at something similar in New Orleans' French Quarter a while back ... with a heaping dose of sci-fi-tinged action thrown in for good measure.

The show also features a familiar face or two for sci-fi fans, most notably Ghostbusters alum Ernie Hudson as a grizzled cop trying to deal with all these fancy upgrades. If they can nail the execution, it could make for a fun action series that's oozing with sci-fi tech around its edges.

APB premieres this spring on Fox. Check out the footage below and let us know what you think.
