Some new Star Wars documents have leaked out, and they could be our first peek at Disney’s new post-Clone Wars animated series.
Assuming the pages aren’t a hoax, the proposed series Star Wars: Reclamation sounds like a very intriguing combination of Clone Wars and the long-in-development Star Wars live-action series (and the recently axed 1313 videogame loosely based on those unused scripts).
Five pages from the alleged pitch document surfaced on IMDb, outlining the premise and characters. The series would be set 15 years after Return of the Jedi, telling stories in a galaxy still struggling with freedom in the wake of the Galactic Empire’s collapse.
It includes intrigue, civil war and a motley crew of characters to follow around the underbelly of Coruscant (sound familiar?). Among the players? One of the few remaining Jedis, a young Kala Calrissian and the mysterious warrior the Shade.
The pitch document is dated Nov. 9, 2012, and claims to bridge the gap between the original films and the upcoming Episode VII, so it stands to reason this could be the project longtime Lucas guru Dave Filono is working on. It's also our first hint at what J.J. Abrams' Episode VII could be about, with hints of civil unrest and remaining pockets of Empire loyalty.
It sounds pretty cool, and if executed well, it could fill that Clone Wars-sized hole in our hearts quite nicely.
Of course, that’s if these documents aren’t just some failed pitch or a complete hoax.
What do you think? Is this legit? Would you watch this show?
