Arrow trains a new team of heroes, including Mister Terrific, in latest trailer for Season 5

After possibly going a bit too far down its own rabbit hole the past season, The CW’s Arrow is getting back to basics — and it all starts with a new team of heroes.

Oliver (Stephen Amell) is moving from vigilante to mentor in a new trailer for the DC series, which offers up some fresh footage that shows the Green Arrow recruiting and discussing his new team of heroes. Featured front and center? Echo Kellum’s Curtis Holt, aka Mister Terrific, who will finally be hitting the streets this fall (turns out it takes more than a few Olympic medals to face down street thugs).

The trailer certainly offers a fresh spin on the Arrow formula, and the tone looks to be a natural evolution of the lighter approach (though not too light) they’ve been leaning into in the wake of Flash’s success. By giving Green Arrow a young team of heroes to train, it could certainly provide a fresh creative spark to go along with the fresh faces.

Arrow Season 5 premieres Oct. 5 on The CW.
