The CW has scored a ratings and critical hit with the dark hero drama Arrow, and fans got a potentially game-changing shock in last week's episode. Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) secret is out, and according to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, it's going to change everything. Spoilers ahead!

The latest episode ended on a massive cliffhanger, with Ollie rescuing his bodyguard John "Dig" Diggle (David Ramsey) and saving his life. When Dig wakes up he sees Ollie in his Arrow gear, hood down.

So what's next? Apparently they'll be teaming up to some degree, as Dig could eventually become one of Ollie's closest confidants moving forward.

Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly:

"Dig finding out is going to rock everyone's world. We always knew early on that we wanted to give Oliver someone to talk to. We didn't want to constantly have voiceover where he was expressing his thoughts to the audience."

"We always say that if Oliver is the dark the Dig is the light and the truth is somewhere in between. They really need each other -- Oliver needs someone to remind him of the value of life and that the extreme way is not the only way. And that sort of push and pull between the characters has given us so many great episodes because you get to see them not just having fun as partners but also see them wrestle with the morality of this quest they are both on.

Since [Dig has] come back and is in personal security, he feels like he's not making a difference in the world. So teaming up with Oliver certainly gives him the opportunity to do that."

It's definitely an interesting twist with the yin-and-yang concept, and Dig has the know-how to kick a little ass if Arrow finds himself cornered at some point.

New episodes of Arrow air Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. on The CW.

What do you think? Did you like the reveal, or were you hoping the secret identity would remain, you know, secret?
