What could make The Police, Joy Division or The Smiths an even greater, more romantic experience? Mashing them up with horror novelist Stephen King, of course!

Artist Butcher Billy has done just that, taking the biggest love songs of the 1980s and turning them into old-school Stephen King-inspired book covers. The series is titled "Stephen King's Stranger Love Songs" and includes titles like "Every Breath You Take," "Careless Whisper" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart."

Says the artist, "The concept is to look at the dark side of love through the lenses of pop culture, bringing twisted aspects of his classic stories to play with the original meanings of the songs - that can be completely subverted or strangely emphasized, while paying tribute to the vintage design of the original book covers."

Aren't you just dying to read the spooky novelization of Hall & Oates' "Maneater"?

Check out all the covers below and let us know which book you'd most like to devour.
