Aside from a teaser trailer screened at Comic-Con, we've been waiting with bated breath for our first look at the upcoming Godzilla reboot. Now, thanks to a concept artist who decided to share a little too much, we have it.

Jordane Menard, an artist working on the film, posted a shot of downtown destruction that has since been removed—luckily a Facebook fan page snatched it up before it vanished.

The shot is similar to the mysterious Comic-Con footage, and shows a few tiny human figures standing in a massive shot of smoky, broken rubble. It looks pretty darn apocalyptic, meaning the new Godzilla must be one heck of a baddie to pull this off.

The reboot is being directed by Gareth Edwards, the young hotshot who created the indie sci-fi hit Monsters, which was set on a version of Earth littered with huge, freaky aliens. If there was ever an experience to prepare you for Godzilla, that'd probably be it. Plus, it's being scripted by Dark Knight saga writer David S. Goyer, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a dark, moody take on the famed Tokyo attacker.

Godzilla is still in the early phases of development and is slated for release in 2014.
