If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then artist Chrissie Zullo surely delivers an ample opportunity to stare into the heart of her cartoon and comic book characters.

Zullo is known for distinctive art style stamped with unusually large anime-style eyes. Her work has most recently been seen in Cinderella: From Fabletown With Love, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, and Josie and the Pussycats, along with a newly announced line of wide-eyed DC Collectibles vinyl figures.

SYFY WIRE invited Zullo into the studio to watch her bring the regal Amazonian warrior Wonder Woman to life, while explaining her creative process. Beginning with a loose sketch using a mechanical pencil, then moving to a Micron PM inking pen that allows some nice variations in her lines, then into an array of colored markers, Zullo explains her mixture of styles and how her love of the Fables comic series inspired her to forge a career path in the funny book business.
