It feels like forever and ever since we’ve had some solid, concrete news about Michael Fassbender’s live-action take on the hit videogame Assassin’s CreedIn fact, we hadn’t heard anything interesting since, oh, 2012!

But now some news has come creeping out of the shadows, and it looks like the film may have finally found its director. So who’s the lucky guy poised to take the reins?

According to Deadline, New Regency and Ubisoft are currently talking to Justin Kurzel to direct Assassin’s Creed, the live-action flick based on Ubisoft’s series of hit videogames.

Who's that? Kurzel is actually little known in the directing circle, but he's fresh off a gig helming Fassbender in Macbeth. Evidently the actor liked what he’s seen to offer him the director’s chair.

As for Fassbender -- who's back as that master of magnetism himself, Magneto, in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past (out on May 23) -- he is set not only to star in the flick, but also to co-produce.

Assassin’s Creed is set to hit theaters on Aug. 7, 2015
