SPOILER WARNING: Charles Xavier's current comic happenings discussed below!
An X-Men story just isn't the same without Charles Xavier.
So says Astonishing X-Men scribe Charles Soule who revealed on the first day of New York's Comic Con that his aim in penning the ongoing comic book series is to resurrect the X-Men's visionary leader as a living, breathing character.
This would certainly be an improvement for the good Professor, who had met his untimely death at the hands of Cyclops in Avengers vs. X-Men. Now we find the Bald psychic's spirit has apparently been relegated to the astral plane while X-Men Psylocke, Gambit, Rogue, Fantomex, and Bishop do battle against the nefarious Shadow King and his psychic attacks.
Per Bleeding Cool, Soule made the comments at a breakfast event for retailers and noted that Xavier's big comeback will get underway in Astonishing X-Men #6 and #7.
No doubt comic book fans eager for the upcoming issues will be mindful.
