It's been a long time coming, but we finally know when we’ll get to see Season 2 of the acclaimed anime Attack on Titan.

Funimation has confirmed that Season 2 of the series will premiere on April 1 as part of a simulcast roll-out. The first season aired in 2013, so the follow-up has certainly been a long time coming.

Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity lives behind giant walls to keep out "Titans," giant creatures that kill and destroy. The anime action series quickly became one of the biggest modern hits in the genre following its debut, and fans have been clamoring for more.

Here's the official synopsis for Season 2:

Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity's freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest — a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!

The second season will be simulcast on Funimation's streaming service, and if you're looking to catch up, the first season is available right now.
