After years of waiting, The Hobbit is finally here. Director Peter Jackson has worked tirelessly to bring J.R.R. Tolkien's story to life. In his final video blog, he takes us from the final steps of post-production to the Wellington world premiere.
Jackson and company pulled out all the stops for The Hobbit. Its premiere was one of the biggest we've ever seen. The stars walked the red carpet, alongside live entertainment and extras dressed as the hairy creatures. Fans were also treated to an outdoor screening of the Lord of the Rings trilogy prior to the event.
Jackson greeted the audience and introduced the Hobbit stars. "I just want to thank you very very much for coming," he said. "Honestly, it means such a lot to all of us here." Unfortunately, one actor who couldn't make it was Sir Ian McKellen. But he was there in spirit as he sent a video from London wishing the cast and crew luck.
