It was on this day in 1931 that Barbara Eden was born in Tucson, Arizona.

Eden grew up in San Francisco and began her acting career around 1956. A ton of television appearances later, she became exactly what you remember her for, calling the dude she loved "Master" way more times than is reasonably acceptable:

In 1974, Eden also played Ann Collins, a woman impregnated by aliens, in a movie called The Stranger Within:

And! She tweets! Reach out and wish her a happy birthday, Master!

It was also on this day in 1985 that Godzilla 1985 premiered:

That trailer's a little exhausting, and we’d forgotten that Godzilla 1985 had so many lasers. In and of itself, Godzilla is sort of his own sci-fi history treasure trove, as evidenced by this:

The plot of the 1985 version was pretty much the same as the others but notable for its somewhat political themes around nuclear weapons. Godzilla feeds off nuclear energy, is sort of a bomb himself, and super dangerous. Also, all of Raymond Burr’s scenes were filmed in one day.

Tomorrow: Fantastic Voyage!
