On this day in 1968, in Pusan, South Korea, Daniel Dae Kim was born.

We are here to tell you that everyone is better off for it. First of all, let's shout out to a dude who walks his talk, famously walking away from Hawaii Five-O with co-star Grace Park in a statement about equal pay.

That's badassery enough. But also, a quick look into his past roles reveal huge sci-fi cred: He played Gavin Park on Angel, Corporal Chang on Star Trek: Enterprise, and Tom Baker on 24. He was in those dystopian Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant movies:

But like, duh, Jin and Sun:

And also, JIN and SUN!:

In other "this day" news -- we keep harping back to this, but last time we talked about Lizzie Borden (who allegedly murdered her parents on this day in 1892), we got some flack for not mentioning The Borden Dispatches -- which feature Lizzie Borden as “a badass (queer!) lady kicking eldritch abomination ...” Like. How could you go wrong?

Tomorrow: Damn you all to Hell!
