Aside from making millions and possibly billions at the international box office, Marvel Studios’ movies have also had a secondary purpose. In theory, Marvel's superhero films are meant to lead new readers back to the comics that inspired their big screen adventures. Now, Marvel is using the success of Avengers: Infinity War as a springboard for a new initiative to reach young readers.

Via Marvel.com, Marvel, Little Free Library, and First Book are teaming up for Avengers: Infinity War-themed library stands, which will be placed in nine communities across the country. Disney Publishing Worldwide and First Book will also keep the Little Marvel Library stands stocked for two years, with titles including Road to Avengers: Infinity War and The Cosmic Quest Vol. 1.

As the name implies, readers will be able to borrow books from the Little Marvel Library for free, and book donations will also be accepted. This will potentially allow Marvel to reach an audience that has been underserved or unable to get regular access to Marvel’s comics. While the locations are limited, these mini libraries could still help the company find new fans.

The Little Marvel Library in Los Angeles will reportedly be larger than the rest of the locations, which will start appearing on Saturday, May 12. A full list of the Marvel pop-up libraries can be found below.
