Life finds a way...but so does Thanos. The colossal mega-hit Avengers: Infinity War will become the all-time King of Summer very soon, and it will leave some very angry dinosaurs in its wake.

According to The Wrap, the 19th film in the MCU will almost certainly pass the $1.67 billion global haul of 2015's Jurassic World today. This will make it the biggest summer blockbuster in box office history, and will also place it at No. 4 on the list of highest grossing movies of all time (not adjusted for inflation).

A few things of interest here: First and foremost, Avengers will beat the entire run of Jurassic World any moment now, and Avengers has certainly not completed its stay at the multiplexes. Though Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story will certainly take some of the heat off of its ever-growing cash hoard, there is plenty of gas left in the Avengers' vibranium-plated tank.

Another point of interest is the factor of the Chinese market. The film had an opening there of $200 million, contributing greatly to its global totals. It's already taken in $1.1 billion overseas, becoming the seventh film to cross the $1-billion mark outside of North America.

Avengers: Infinity War is already the highest grossing superhero movie in history, and is now expected to be one of just four films to cross the $2-billion-worldwide mark. If it does, the film will join the ranks of Avatar, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Titanic. Of those films, Avengers is the only one to have a release outside of December. Can the Infinity War pull it off? Doctor Strange has seen a future where it is possible, but he's not telling us anything.

The Chinese success proved pivotal to getting the Avengers this far, and that is something that two upcoming competitors will not have. The Star Wars franchise does not have a huge following there, and Deadpool 2 does not have a Chinese release date at all yet. The next movie that looks to be a contender outside of North America is the follow-up to the previous summer record holder, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Will the latest why-did-the-scientists-make-this-dinosaur-hybrid-killing-machine film be able to take on almost every hero in the MCU? Anything's possible, but we're skeptical. Only one thing is certain: Chris Pratt wins either way

Avengers: Infinity War is in cinemas now (have you heard?), and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will open for business June 21. Deadpool 2 will have a little something to say this weekend, and Solo: A Star Wars Story will punch it on May 24. This summer has just begun!
