We've already seen the awesome new live-action Avengers trailer, but now one fan with a soft spot for the old Marvel superhero cartoons of yore has made a shot-for-shot version using (mostly) 1960s footage. And it rocks.
There is no telling how much time filmmaker Leo Curbelo spent digging around in clips from old episodes of the Saturday morning cartoon The Marvel Super Heroes, but the effort was well worth it.
The finished product is just awesome, and surprisingly close to the original trailer. Though about 90 percent of the footage comes from vintage cartoons, the Nick Fury shots had to be pulled from the Iron Man cartoon put out in the 1990s (featuring a pre-Samuel L. Jackson white Nick Fury).
Even better, there is also a cut of the cartoon trailer running side-by-side with the live-action original.
