Although it’s Doc Brown who gets all the credit, Bob Gale is really the one safeguarding the space-time continuum of the Back to the Future universe. Along with Robert Zemeckis, he co-wrote and produced all three of the films and has remained involved in preserving the franchise’s legacy.
Gale remains heavily involved in telling the stories about the films’ productions, has kept many props from the sets and additionally provides the introduction in the gorgeous new book Back to the Future: The Ultimate Visual History, by Michael Klastorin and Randal Atamaniuk.
Tonight, Gale will join musician Huey Lewis and BTTF stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson on a New York City stage to discuss Oct. 21, 2015 – known as Back to the Future Day – before screening Part II.
But before he talks about the future tonight, we joined him in the past, earlier this week, to discuss the present-day 2015 -- and to look at some artifacts from the Back to the Future timeline.
