The future is now. If you don’t know that today, Oct. 21, 2015, marks the day Marty McFly arrived from 1985 in Back to the Future Part II, you’ve simply not turned on a TV, read about baseball or even taken a peek at Twitter for a few days. It also means your nerd cred is seriously under question.

But yes, we’ve arrived. Take a look around. This is the future. Or the present. And it also marks the day that a new Back to the Future DVD/Blu-ray set is released, which includes a new featurette starring Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, along with other future-related commercials and spots.

To talk about the franchise, let’s travel to the past, to late July in London. I had the fortune of hosting the Back to the Future reunion panel at London Film & Comic Con (the experience of which you can read about here). Following that, I spoke about the 30th anniversary of the movie and “Back to the Future Day” with Lloyd and Lea Thompson, who played Dr. Emmett Brown and Lorraine Baines/McFly, respectively, in the BTTF franchise.
