If you’ve really been digging on the 1980s-inspired, synth-horror soundtrack that made Stranger Things so great, you’re in luck — the band behind that vibe is taking the show on the road. Oh, and to vinyl.
Back before anyone knew Stranger Things was going to turn out be a bona fide hit, the Austin indie band Survive was tapped to create the awesome score that permeates the entire series. So, when everyone and their brother started watching the show, the band blew up. Like, fast. For fans wanting to hear more of their ominous, 1980s-style tunes, Survive is planning a nationwide tour to kick off next month. It’ll also coincide with the release of their new album RR7349. So yeah, perfect timing.
Along with catching the band on the road, the show’s soundtrack has also been released digitally, and it's been confirmed that Lakeshore Records is prepping a vinyl release as you read this (sadly, no exact release date has been announced yet). But take solace in the fact that it’s coming. Here’s hoping they draw some inspiration from The Upside Down for some freaky colored vinyl.
