The DC Comics universe hasn’t had an Oracle since Barbara Gordon suited back up as Batgirl, but all that changed this week.

The publisher launched the new Batgirl and the Birds of Prey series out of Rebirth, and the first few episodes have followed the heroes’ mission to track down a new hacker who has adopted Barbara’s old Oracle mantle. Turns out Babs is a bit particular about people using her old hacker alias without permission.

The latest issue finally revealed the mystery hacker: Gus Yale, a fanboy hacker with a major Batgirl obsession. He even has some geeky Babs memorabilia to boot (including her glasses from the pre-Lasik era). The gang is none too pleased about Fauxracle getting involved in their business, though he turns out to not be all bad. No word on whether Gus will be sticking around, but it’s nice to see Batgirl inspiring someone to (mostly) do good. Even if it is a bit creepy.

Batgirl and the Birds of Prey is written by Julie Benson, Shawna Benson, Roge Antonio and Allen Passalaqua. Birds of Prey No. 5 is on shelves now.
