Babies tossed into the sewer. Killer clowns. Rampant kidnapping. A black bile-spewing villain biting the nose off a lackey. A woman electrocuting another character with a kiss. And Michelle Pfeiffer being resurrected by vampire cats (or something).

No, it's not a horror movie. It's Tim Burton's gothic melodrama disguised as a comic book movie, Batman Returns, which was released in theaters 25 years ago today.

Take a look back at this groundbreaking film, released way before superhero movies were, you know, really a thing. And kudos to anyone who still has those McDonald's collector cups.
