News for Spider-Man is swinging in pretty quickly now. Early buzz for new Peter Parker Tom Holland has already been very positive thanks to his role in the forthcoming Captain America: Civil War. The court of public opinion is slightly more mixed, however, on the reveal of the new title for Sony's latest Spidey film, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
We also heard a little rumor that Vulture might be one of the villains for the 2017 film, but we didn't hear about who might be playing him. But, according to Variety, former Batman Michael Keaton is in early negotiations to play a bad guy for Homecoming. That could mean he's playing Vulture, it could mean he's playing someone else entirely, or it could mean nothing at all.
But after a long time of mostly avoiding the whole superhero scene, it's interesting to see Keaton's name come up, especially after his very meta portrayal of former fictional comic-book actor Riggan in Birdman.
We'd almost chalk the whole thing up to pure flights of fancy if it weren't for the fact that he's already returning to play Betelgeuse, another character he seemed to be running from for a long time. Oh, and also, because I think we all know that Batman and Spider-Man already have a very natural relationship.
What say you? Michael Keaton for Vulture? Or Norman Osborne, maybe? Scorpion? What Spider-Man baddie would you pick for him to portray?
