While doing press for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, producer Deborah Snyder sat down with Forbes to discuss the plans for their DC Extended Universe and hinted that one Justice League member may pop up in the Scarlet Speedster’s stand-alone movie, which stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/Flash.
As most of you already know, Warner Bros. -- along with Zack Snyder and Geoff Johns -- have mapped out the DCEU up to 2020 with the last movie planned (so far) being Green Lantern Corps, set to come out on June 19, 2020. Well, at least they've mapped it out right up through Justice League Part Two arriving in theaters on June 14, 2019.
“So Zack and Geoff Johns sat down and outlined where they thought the stories were going to go. And it doesn’t mean that once you have a writer writing them, it’s not going to change, but at least it’s a framework of, ‘Here’s what we think is going to happen from now til, say, 2020, through the second Justice League movie.’”
In the interview, Deborah Snyder promised that each stand-alone DC comic-book movie will be different in tone, because each character is different. For example, director James Wan has already promised that his Aquaman will have a "sense of fun" while David Ayer's Suicide Squad is about to undergo some major reshoots in order to give the film the same vibe as its last trailer which was -- you guessed it! F-U-N.
So, what can we expect from The Flash? Snyder seems to hint that the movie will be more lighthearted than the rest of the DCEU offerings (she recently called the Flash "a little more comedic") and that Victor Stone, aka Cyborg, may appear alongside the Fastest Man Alive.
“As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher — who plays Cyborg — are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them.”
The question is, will we see a superhero team-up between the two characters a la Batman v Superman (but, you know, fun), or will Cyborg simply show up for a couple of scenes? What do you think?
