The folks behind The CW's new superhero series Arrow have added another geek feather to their casting hat, signing fan favorite Battlestar Galactica and Dollhouse star Tahmoh Penikett. So who's Helo playing?

Penikett will play Tom Salvati, the right-hand man to recurring baddie and mob boss Frank Bertinelli (Jeffrey Nordling), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The studio is mum on whether Penikett is taking on a recurring role, or if it's a one-episode guest spot, but regardless—more Penikett is a good thing.

The studio has been adamant about going for a darker approach, and adding a star of two of the darkest sci-fi series in recent years, via Battlestar Galactica and Dollhouse, does help with the street cred to a certain degree.

Penikett's casting is definitely a coup, and coupled with recent news that Torchwood star John Barrowman (Capt. Jack Harkness) will also recur as a mysterious wealthy resident of Sterling City, it makes this series a smorgasbord of awesome.

If nothing else, we'll check this show out for the awesome stunt casting moves.

What do you think of the decision? Will Penikett be a good fit in Arrow?
