Originating from a sassy line of premium collector statues styled after World War II pinup girls, the DC Bombshells line-up of reimagined 1940s-era female superheroes and villains, designed by artist Ant Lucia, has evolved into its own cottage industry, with their own lineup of backpacks, comics, action figures, T-shirts, mugs, and games.
Funko targeted these popular retro incarnations to bring into its ever-expanding fold, with an initial release of Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, and Katana Pop! vinyls. Now a second wave of Pop! DC Bombshells has been revealed, spotlighting Poison Ivy, Supergirl, Batwoman, Hawkgirl, Catwoman, and Wonder Woman in multiple variants.
Exclusive figures in this latest lot include a chase purple Catwoman Pop! listed as a 1-in-6 rarity. Barnes & Noble will sell a special sepia version of Supergirl this winter, a similar sepia-toned Catwoman can be found at Books-A-Million, followed by a sepia model of Hawkgirl at Hot Topic, and a festive red and green Christmas edition of Wonder Woman is stocked at Michael’s.
