The first international trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast has made its way online. Featuring quite a bit of new footage, the trailer also puts the spotlight on some of the animated movie’s most iconic scenes.

The House of Mouse’s newest movie stars Emma Watson (Harry Potter) as Belle, Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as the Beast, Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda) as Belle's father Maurice, Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) as Gaston and Josh Gad (Frozen) as Le Fou. CGI characters Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Lumière, Plumette and Chip are played by Ian McKellen (X-Men), Emma Thompson (Bridget Jones’ Baby), Ewan McGregor (Star Wars), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Doctor Who) and Nathan Mack (Babylon).

The movie directed by Bill Condon (Mr. Holmes) from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos (The Huntsman: Winter’s War) and Stephen Chbosky (Jericho, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will feature original songs from the 1991 Oscar-winning animated film as well as fresh new pieces written by Alan Menken and Tim Price.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. Beauty and the Beast is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Beauty and the Beast will open on March 17, 2017.
