Tim Sale is an Eisner Award-winning artist famously known for Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Haunted Knight, Superman Confidential, Superman For All Seasons, and many other memorable titles like the Marvel "Color Books."

Though he naturally gravitates to the Dark Knight, his Man of Steel stories and collaborations with Jeph Loeb on Superman For All Seasons resulted in a refreshing dip into the deep well of Americana and classic father-son stories.

Sale has also contributed to DC's upcoming Action Comics #1000 issue with a special Supes story written by Scott Snyder and set in one single interior.

SYFY WIRE sat down with Sale to talk about settling back into Superman for this anniversary anthology, how different colorists have interpreted his pencils, how seeing Superman being afflicted by Kryptonite freaked him out as a kid, his fondness for Hulk: Gray, and what other Marvel characters he'd love to draw for.
