Top Cow's head honcho, Matt Hawkins is entering his third decade running the show at this eclectic Image Comics imprint and he's not taking his foot off the gas one inch.

After joining the crew way back in 1998 straight out of graduate school, Hawkins has helped nurture, create, and/or launch dozens of diverse titles for the partner studio's colorful universe including The Darkness, Witchblade, The Agency, Magdalena, Think Tank, Postal, Golgotha, Warframe, Aphrodite IX, Port of Earth, and Swing.

One of his latest projects is a radical flashback to the '90s.

Marc Silvestri's Cyberforce was a pivotal cybernetic sci-fi saga that helped put Image on the map when it premiered in 1992. A 25th anniversary relaunch of the classic title erupted this past March, overseen by Silvestri, co-written by Hawkins and Bryan Hill, and paired with striking pencils by Atilio Rojo.

SYFY WIRE sat down with Hawkins to reflect back on 20 years as Top Cow's President and CEO, his continued interest in transhumanism, the new adaptation of Digital Extreme's Warframe video game, how the concept for his DARPA-centric series Think Tank evolved, and the impressive success Top Cow has maintained across all platforms.
