Diana of Themyscira has arrived, and she's ready for battle.
We were expecting some big reveals from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice during the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con today, and boy did director Zack Snyder deliver. We'll have more on the rest of what he brought to the party a bit later, but for now, we're talking Wonder Woman.
After months of waiting, after one good look at Superman's new threads and two looks at Ben Affleck in the Batsuit, attendees at the Warners Hall H panel finally got a full-body look at Gal Gadot in costume as Wonder Woman. A few minutes after leaving the Hall H stage, Snyder shared the image with the rest of the world via Twitter.
And here it is:
Well, those rumors that she'd have a jacket and pants (unless she has two costumes) turned out to be nothing. In its shape, at least, it's relying more on the classic Wonder Woman suit, and even has a bit of of a skirt to it to echo back to Diana's earliest adventures. The rest of it, though, seems all about the warrior look, from the boots, to the sword, to the lasso, to the gauntlets, to the metallic elements on the torso. The headpiece is a nice touch, too.
We'll all be debating the finer points of this costume for ages, but from where I sit, one thing's for sure — anyone who thought Gal Gadot couldn't pull off the badass Amazon look is wrong.
We'll have plenty more Batman v Superman coverage coming up a bit later. For now, what do you think of the suit?
