Hollywood heavyweights Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up to develop the new futuristic sci-fi thriller Incorporated at Syfy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Incorporated is described as a futuristic espionage thriller set in a world where corporations have seemingly unlimited power. The drama will be the story of one man's efforts to beat the system. So, kind of like Continuum — just set entirely in the future and minus the time-travel tropes.
Though Affleck and Damon are best known for their roles in front of the camera (see: the upcoming Batman v Superman), the duo are also fairly prolific producers. This sounds like an interesting, high-concept pitch — and with these two behind the curtain — you’d think it has a good chance of eventually snagging a pilot order.
Along with Affleck and Damon, David and Alex Pastor (The Last Days) will write the pilot script, while Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The project comes as the network is making a renewed push into straight-up sci-fi fare, including the upcoming 12 Monkeys, Ascension, The Expanse and Hunters — not to mention existing shows Defiance, Helix, Dominion, Ascension, Haven, etc.
As for what they’re up to currently, Affleck is shooting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and currently stars in the nation’s No. 1 flick, Gone Girl. Damon is gearing up to star in Ridley Scott’s new flick The Martian.
Do you think this Incorporated will be one to watch out for in the coming seasons?
