To put it bluntly: This is a far cry from The Little Mermaid. From the glimpses we’ve seen so far of Freeform’s upcoming show Siren, it’s clear the series is going to offer a unique and dangerous twist on the traditional mermaids we’re used to seeing in most media. Now we have a better idea of what the townspeople of Bristol Cove are going to face thanks to a new trailer and key art released Tuesday.
The trailer shows us more of the people and setting of Siren. In it we see a violent woman, who apparently changes in the water, causing a bit of a stir in Bristol Cove as a pair of marine biologists and perhaps the rest of the town’s residents start to realize some stories just might be true, including the legend that they were once the home to mermaids.
In addition to the trailer the below poster was also released, giving us another look at how the mermaids are going to appear in the series.
The trailer and poster are enough to make us even more intrigued about the series, but at least we don’t have too much longer to wait to see how things turn out for the town once the mermaids arrive! Siren will premiere on March 29.
