Director Bryan Singer is digging deep into the X-Men canon for Days of Future Past, and now we finally have a first look at what we can expect from the new badass mutant Bishop.
Though Singer has been rolling out behind-the-scenes pics for months, no official images from Days of Future Past have been released into the wild — until now. With San Diego Comic-Con underway, the studio has let loose more than half a dozen (admittedly small) head shots showing several members of the cast.
The most intriguing? That’d be Omar Sy as Bishop, who will be joining the already extensive roster. The future-mutant Bishop has been around in the comics since 1991, and has been involved in his fair share of time-travel stories from the comic canon (as well as the beloved 1990s animated series).
Sy’s casting looks pretty spot-on from how the character is portrayed in the comics, so that’s a good sign. The new pics also show off some new battle-style costumes for Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Colossus (Daniel Cudmore), along with some younger mutants from the First Class era. Oh yeah, there is also the first official look at Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) sporting his trademark spiky ‘do in the sequel.
