For Black History Month we're doing something called "28 Days. 28 Heroes," where we're honoring some of sci-fi's greatest black superheroes. And today it's all about the Daywalker.

Blade started out in the panels of Marvel Comics, but his biggest success came on the big screen thanks to Wesley Snipes. He kills vampires, wears leather and generally kicks a whole lot of butt. Buffy might have the title, but we all know Blade is the real OG vampire slayer, complete with a heart to protect those who can't defend themselves.

Blade was on the front line of black superheroes breaking through the mainstream comic market, dating back to his debut in 1973. He also headlined one of the first serious comic book movies ever made (released all the way back in 1998), so never forget.

Blade is awesome. Watch our tribute below and let us know your all-time favorite bit of Blade derring-do.
