The first trailer for Captain America: Civil War has finally arrived and brings with it a ton of details about what to expect from what many fans are calling Avengers 2.5.
We already knew Bucky Barnes would play a role in the sequel, but it seems the Winter Soldier’s rehabilitation is at the heart of the story. He’s finally regained his memory, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a wanted assassin. Captain America can see he’s a man looking to make amends, and ends up fighting against a whole lot of people who think otherwise. We also get a look at the Sokovia Accords, apparently written up in the wake of Age of Ultron to provide some oversight to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Beyond that, we also get our first fleeting peek at Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, who is right in the middle of a few massive melees. The costume also really seems to work in live action, while still retaining the comic-book hallmarks. Other highlights: Rhodey, aka War Machine, looks to have taken a beating (or worse?) as Tony stands over his broken armor; Falcon gets some nice action; Tony takes a beating himself at the hands of Bucky and Steve; and you really get a sense of the friendship between Tony and Steve as it falls apart. Steve puts Bucky above just about everyone, and it's hard to blame him. Sadly: no Spider-Man sightings. Hey, they’ve got to save something for the coming months, right?
