Avengers: Infinity War recently arrived in theaters, and Black Panther on home video. If you're still mourning the death of Marvel's best villain, Erik Killmonger, and the disappearance of King T'Challa after Thanos' infamous snap, you should check out the latest episode of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda.
Titled "The Maze of Tal-Recs," the 5-minute video finds T'Challa (in his Panther suit) and Okoye attempting to rescue Shuri from the clutches of Ulysses Klaue and Erik Killmonger. Never mind that both characters died in Black Panther — this one's meant to make you laugh, continuity be damned.
It should also be noted that Klaue listens to Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" in his murder vehicle, which could be seen as a subtle reference to the fact that in the comics, the character is the son of a Nazi war criminal.
The eponymous "Maze" is a series of booby traps in the jungle that lead to the vibranium mines of Wakanda. Klaue and Killmonger want access to the precious metal, and to kidnap the country's most brilliant scientist in the hopes of achieving that goal, especially since she designed all the anti-intruder systems.
"Good thing I remember where all the traps are," says T'Challa before setting off all the traps.
While you won't be hearing the original cast (including Chadwick Boseman, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, and Michael B. Jordan) voices their respective on-screen characters, the clip does features the vocal talents of James Mathis III (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) as T'Challa, Trevor Devall (Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy) as Klaue, Daisy Lightfoot (Horizon: Zero Dawn) as Shuri, Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) as Okoye, and Keston John (Bosch) as Killmonger.
This third episode of Trouble in Wakanda is just one of five, says Marvel, all of which will run together as a compilation on Disney XD on June 3 at 11 a.m. ET.
