Deadline reports that The Walking Dead star is not only in early talks to feature largely in Godzilla vs Kong, but she's also said to be circling a part in the next Star Trek movie (and we're not talking about Tarantino's proposed R-rated one.)
The fourth installment of the Legendary/Warner Bros. Kong movies (dropping after next summer's Kong: King of the Monsters) will be directed by Adam Wingward and is expected to hit theatres in May 2020. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is already attached to the project, as well as Deadpool 2's Julian Dennison, aka Firefist. According to The Hollywood Reporter Gurira's part is said to be a leading role.
Meanwhile, Paramount’s Star Trek 4 movie is set to be helmed by the franchise’s first-ever female director, S.J. Clarkson. It is unclear yet what role Gurira would play, but Deadline indicates that "sources" say she is "circling" the project.
We're seriously pumped to see Gurira in discussions for these huge genre projects, as well as looking forward to her reprisal of playing Okoye in the next Black Panther installment (and hopefully Avengers 4.) What about you? Are you excited to see Gurira in either of these movies? Let us know in the comments below.
