With that awesome sword of his, Blade's always been a bit of a samurai, right? So it makes sense that the vampire hybrid is being turned into an anime. Check out a new promo for the Japanese animated series, which we're simply calling Blade, which has debuted online.

And when we say anime, we mean it in every sense of the word—none of it is in English. Therefore, you should sit back, relax and enjoy the pretty (bloody) pictures.

The revamped Blade is heavily influenced by the film trilogy that starred Wesley Snipes, the live-action TV adaptation, and of course the comic book for good measure. In the new series, the Daywalker heads over to Japan on a quest to find the one and only Deacon Frost!
While on the move, Blade picks up a couple new friends, who aid him on his cross-country journey. He meets a young woman named Makoto, a man named Noah Van Helsing and his trusted dog Razor. And yes, Noah is a descendant of THE Van Helsing. The one who made the family name famous.

Blade is set to debut on Japanese television July 1, but a U.S. release date hasn't been announced. (We wonder what that's all about.) Do you want to see the new Blade stateside? What do you think of his new look?
