For kids of a certain age, the 1995 Robin Williams film Jumanji still holds quite a lot of charm — and it apparently almost helped kickstart Scarlett Johnasson’s career.
The film, based on a jungle-themed board game that comes to life and wreaks havoc, starred Williams and kiddos Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce as the trio tasked with beating the game and sending all that magic back into the board. It was a fun fantasy romp, and the spot-on casting is one major reason.
But, instead of a young Kirsten Dunst as Judy, Jumanji could’ve starred an 11-year-old Scarlett Johansson, who was just getting her career as a child actor off the ground. ScarJo’s long-lost audition reel has resurfaced thanks to the magic of the Internet, and we can get a peek at what could’ve been below.
Say hello to the alternate universe:
What do you think? Was Dunst the right choice, or would you have preferred an adorable ScarJo?
