With its roots firmly planted in low-rent, grindhouse style cinema, Syfy's Blood Drive is burning up the asphalt with its latest high-octane promos. Here's a new TV spot that pays homage to its hardcore heritage in the glorious, pre-internet age of VCR-era entertainment.

The 13-episode season wallows in the mixed muck of the sub-genres with a sensationalist onslaught of man-eating muscle cars, electrocution, torture, zombie monsters, busty nymphos, circus freaks, hillbilly cults and a crazy confluence of maximum carnage.

Here's the series' official synopsis:

Los Angeles in the near future: where water is as scarce as oil and climate change keeps the temperature at a cool 115 degrees in the shade. It’s a place where crime is so rampant that only the worst violence is punished and where Arthur Bailey — the city’s last good cop — runs afoul of the dirtiest and meanest underground car rally in the world, Blood Drive. The master of ceremonies is a vaudevillian nightmare, the drivers are homicidal deviants, and the cars run on human blood.

Check out this nostalgia-laced preview for Blood Drive and tell us if you've got the stomach for its unholy horrors when it roars onto the air June 4 at 10/9c on Syfy.
